Sakura Necklace
by featured guest artist Cindy Holsclaw Cindy made this necklace for the Bead Mavens's Vernal Challenge, where it received an Honorable Mention. She said, "When I think of the vernal equinox, I think of cherry blossom trees, whose delicate blossoms mark the start of the spring season. I sought to mimic these little flowers with Czech glass lentil beads and Japanese seed beads, resulting in a satisfyingly self-supporting miniature flower design. Collected together with bronze round and bugle beads for the stems and branches, they form a long, blooming branch of a Sakura tree."
